A Southerner's Thoughts and Fandoms

First Time

So I’ve started my first writing attempt in a new genre: historical fiction. The only thing close to it that I’ve written is “Scottish Friends,” which I wrote with a friend in high school; it was more of a horrendous Jane Austen knock-off and was not very historically accurate (though we had fun looking up fashions in the 1830’s).

This is pretty tricky because I’m dealing with a rather controversial subject that we don’t know much about. I need to ask my teacher more about the Irish culdees and the whole Catholic church in Ireland before it formally came under Rome’s control. I’m going for a shorter story, maybe for a younger audience. And I’m also thinking, if I finish this one, I will write another one about the Vikings in Greenland and Vinland.
